Two months ago, industry leaders and innovators gathered in Ontario, Canada, for the 2nd Annual Automotive Sustainability Summit, an inspiring event co-hosted by Solera and Simplicity Car Care. What unfolded was one of the most impactful moments of the year, an energizing gathering that united voices from across the vehicle claims and collision repair ecosystem to advance one shared goal: a more sustainable automotive future.

October 8th, 2025, witnessed representatives from insurers, repair networks, parts suppliers, recycling organizations, circular economy experts, media partners, technology innovators, and more, all emphasizing that green action is now a social, economic and environmental urgency. The focus has shifted from “Why invest?” to “How fast can we scale?”

Throughout the event, attendees took part in insightful panels, collaborative discussions, and thought-provoking sessions exploring the sustainability challenges and opportunities shaping today’s automotive landscape: from global best-practices and role models to local regulations and emerging industry standards.

Because Green Is Good For Business

Co-host Paul Prochilo, CEO of Simplicity Car Care, urged the industry to start taking action with a short but straight statement: “Our progress is the result of partnership,” emphasizing the collective accountability on the matter.

Co-host Bill Brower, SVP of Global Industry Relations and NA Claims at Solera, reinforced the importance of measurable progress. From emissions tracking to operational efficiency, we can’t control what we cannot measure and therefore carbon footprint reduction starts with combining the right data, tools, and partnerships.

“We’re not trying to sell people on the value of sustainability. This forum is about how we can execute on it.” – Brower shared.

A National Perspective on Environmental Leadership

Keynote speaker Jeffrey Simpson, award-winner and recognized news reporter, as well as co-author of the book titled Hot Air: Meeting Canada’s Climate Change Challenge, provided a compelling and urgent perspective on the climate challenges facing the nation, delving into the political, corporate, and environmental perspectives to understand real change begins from each person.

Sustainability as a Global and Corporate Imperative

With a wealth of experience from her work at large-scale global corporations, her time abroad, and her extensive consulting background helping some of the world’s largest organizations, Michelle Li, founder and CEO of Clever Carbon, gave a powerful presentation with facts and stats, showing her personal emissions number to prove the importance of measurement in order to minimize footprint. And as if the benefits weren’t enough, she also demonstrated how climate strategy enhances profitability, strengthens brand reputation, and attracts top talent. Because green is good for business!

Measurement Before Movement

Leading the conversation with powerful conviction and determination, Dominic Napier, Managing Director of Carbon Neutral Repair, explored the current international framework on sustainable regulations and goals, offering practical insights into how businesses can better understand and take action to measure emissions.

With deep expertise in sustainability strategy and emissions management, Dominic shared about his collaboration with Solera on a full scope 3 emissions assessment for Sustainable Estimatics, agreeing on the importance of accurate measurement.

Real progress comes from strong partnerships and collaborative effort

Solera and Simplicity Car Care are proud to partner to bring the industry’s brightest minds together to turn climate ambition into real-world impact.
